Owner & Founder

Hi there! I'm Christy Sohie, the founder and creative designer of Sage & Rue. I started my small, watercolor goods business out of a love for beautiful art that can be purposeful for everyday living. With a passion for originality and a background in graphic design, I strive to use my skills to create goods and gifts that encourage others to pursue and share wisdom, grace, and truth daily.

In addition to growing Sage & Rue, I enjoy exploring my hometown of Old Towne Orange, CA with my husband of 10 years and our kids. Some of my favorite things include dinosaurs (my husband actually proposed to me with a dino theme!), striped tees, natural light photography, and citrus-scented candles. Even more, I believe that I’m a sinner who has been saved by grace and I love the Lord deeply. As a result, you'll notice hints of gospel truths in much of my work.

The Studio

I launched Sage & Rue in April 2014, offering whimsical greeting cards created with handcut paper on Etsy. Since then, I’ve grown my shop to include stationery and home goods, now all made with my hand-painted, original artwork. My hope is that my watercolor artwork will encourage you throughout your everyday.
